Carbon Nanotubes: The key to unlock future VLSI Interconnects?

The workshop will focus on Carbon Nanotube (CNT) technology as possible candidate for future VLSI interconnects. The major aspects of CNT interconnects will be covered, from the issues and solutions to growth/deposition local and global lines to the novel measurement and simulation methodologies necessary to characterize and understand CNT performances. Aim of the workshop is to disseminate the latest results arising from the H2020 EU-funded project CONNECT as well as to host invited talks from academia and industry to deepen the understanding of future Interconnect scenarios.

Emerging Interconnect Technologies in ManyCore architectures

Monday, November 27, 2017

Emerging Interconnect Technologies in ManyCore architectures
Paris, cité internationale – Collège d’Espagne

The colloquium will provide technical information about emerging interconnect technologies, with the focus on Carbon Nanotubes (CNT), 3D integration and optical interconnects in silicon photonics. A broad overview of all the major aspects of BEOL interconnects will be offered, ranging from the innovative growth/deposition techniques of local and global lines to the novel measurement and simulation methodologies developed to characterize interconnect performances and novel architecture paradigms for energy efficiency. International scientific experts from both academia and research centers will give the presentations and will enrich the global perspective of the colloquium.

The target audience is students, researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs who have an interest or work in the areas related to advanced and future interconnects for integrated circuits. Since interconnects delay is a major limitation to circuits performance, anyone interested in advanced CMOS technologies and on new Network-on-Chip technologies will benefit from the topics addressed by the experts. Researchers working in the field of emerging technologies even if not for with direct application in interconnects technology, will also find cross-disciplinary interest in this workshop. Finally, CMOS circuit designers will be able to gather useful information on modeling; design and optimization opportunities offered by novel interconnect technologies.

CONNECT @ ESSDERC2017

Sunday, September 10, 2017

The workshop will provide technical information about emerging interconnect technologies, with the focus on Carbon Nanotubes (CNT). A broad overview of all the major aspects of CNT interconnects will be offered, ranging from the innovative growth/deposition techniques of local and global lines to the novel measurement and simulation methodologies developed to characterize CNT performances. The core of the workshop will be based on the latest results arising from the research within the H2020 EU-funded project CONNECT. Invited talks from academia, research centers and industry will enrich the global perspective of the workshop.

CONNECT @European Nanoelectronics Forum 2016 in Rome

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

With a history that dates back to 2001, the annual European Nanoelectronics Forum (ENF) has forged a place in the agendas of everyone interested in this domain from businesses big and small, to policy makers to researchers.

The 2016 edition of this important event, with the theme of Innovation along the Value Chain, was held at the Sheraton Roma Hotel and Conference Center in Italy on 23-24 November.

Over the 2 days, participants came together to learn about the latest innovations and industry trends, as well as to get updates on policy developments, European strategies and collaborative funding programmes.

With more than 60 projects exhibited from ECSEL, EUREKA Clusters and H2020/FP7 as well as a top notch plenary programme, ENF2016 delivered a unique networking opportunity for all attendees and a comprehensive snapshot of nanoelectronics R&D&I in Europe today.
